Joe Machicote is the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer for Premier with nearly 30 years of experience in human resources, organizational development, and diversity and inclusion. Machicote is responsible for the company’s overall people strategy and leads our diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging efforts to ensure and maintain a values-driven culture of inclusiveness, listening and growth. He is passionate about the employee experience and creating a culture that inspires learning, growth and well-being and attracting and retaining today’s top talent.
Machicote has held multiple senior leadership roles throughout his career, focused on supporting business goals and delivering results through the intersection of culture, strategy, diversity and talent. Prior to joining Premier, he was the Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Diversity Officer for Erickson Living, a large continuing care retirement community organization. Machicote also previously served as Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development and Chief Diversity Officer at Snyder's-Lance, a leading manufacturer of snack foods, as well as he held multiple positions at Compass Group, a global contract dining and services organization, including Chief Diversity Officer, Vice President of Relations Development, Division Director of Human Resources, Director of Human Resources and Training, and Senior Director of Foodservice and Dining Operations.
During his career, Machicote has had responsibility for all aspects of human resources and organizational development, which include creating high-performing teams, cultural development, diversity and inclusion, workforce planning, rewards and recognition, talent management, employee relations, learning and development, talent acquisition, policy and procedure, payroll, compensation and benefits.
Machicote has chaired several community boards following his passion for community service, education, nutrition, culture, diversity and inclusion and the advancement of underprivileged and at-risk individuals. He has also been recognized by the National Diversity Council as a Top 100 DEI Leader, DEI Influencer and a Top 100 Diversity Officer in the U.S. and has most recently been named one of the Top 10 most Influential D&I leaders in the country by Beyond Business Magazine.
Machicote holds a bachelor’s degree in business marketing from Manhattanville College.
