Premier's mission is simple and honest – to improve the health of communities. Our Giving Goodwill Initiative reflects our commitment to embracing our social responsibility in everything we do: promoting a diverse and inclusive workforce, cultivating a culture of giving back through employee volunteerism, and investing in and partnering with nonprofits dedicated to improving community health. Premier provides our employees paid time off each quarter to give back to their local communities.
The program’s framework offers employees a variety of opportunities that encourage teams to volunteer together, donate to those in need and make a real difference in the communities they live in. From the Salvation Army Angel Tree program to Classroom Central’s annual back-to-school supply drive, Premier employees are always looking for the next way to give back.
Since 1991, Premier has recognized the exemplary efforts of community organizations dedicated to helping the medically underserved with the Monroe E. Trout Premier Cares Award and a $100,000 gift from Premier to support their program and their community’s health. To date, the program has provided over $3 million to more than 100 organizations nationwide.

Our Giving Goodwill Initiative puts the power to effect meaningful change in the hands of our employees—and helps them make a lasting impact through financial giving, volunteer efforts and corporate-sponsored charitable events. Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) aim to bring their spirit of inclusion and belonging to transform our communities through both volunteering and charitable donations that support various nonprofits. In fiscal year 2021, our ERGs donated nearly $6,700 to various community development initiatives.
