Leisure Care Wins Inaugural Premier Continuum of Care Alliance Excellence Award

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — October 7, 2026 — Premier, Inc., a leading technology-driven healthcare improvement company, has named Leisure Care as the inaugural recipient of the Premier Continuum of Care Alliance Excellence Award.
The Premier Continuum of Care Alliance Excellence Award recognizes an organization that demonstrates an exceptional commitment to transforming care across the continuum through strategic partnership, operational excellence, innovation and a shared dedication to improving the lives of those they serve.
Founded in 1976 and based in Seattle, Leisure Care has spent 50 years managing and developing senior living communities designed around the evolving needs and expectations of older adults. Its communities offer independent living, assisted living and memory care, with an emphasis on wellness, purpose and helping residents remain connected to and engaged with the world around them.
“Leisure Care exemplifies the collaboration and commitment that strengthens the entire Premier alliance,” said Bruce Radcliff, President of Supply Chain Services at Premier. “Their approach goes beyond adopting individual solutions. They bring discipline, curiosity and a genuine willingness to identify opportunities, improve operations and create greater value for the people and communities they serve.
“We’re proud to recognize Leisure Care as the inaugural recipient of this award.”
Through its partnership with Premier, Leisure Care has taken an enterprise-wide approach to improving operations and maximizing value across its communities. That commitment is particularly evident in its food program, where the organization has achieved 90 percent utilization of its food supplier and distributor contracted manufacturer agreements (CMAs) across its extensive community portfolio — a significant increase over prior years.
Leisure Care has brought that same approach to other areas of its operations, actively evaluating opportunities across Premier’s portfolio to identifyadditional savings, efficiencies and operational improvements. The organization’s adoption of Premier’s SmartPO, an e-procurement platform designed for senior living and other continuum-of-care providers, has helped streamline purchasing and strengthen procurement operations across its communities, reflecting a broader commitment to using technology and strategic partnerships to drive operational excellence.
“We’ve always believed that progress happens when you look ahead, and that starts with listening to our residents, empowering our teams and finding new ways to improve the experience of the people we serve,” said Dan Madsen, Chairman and CEO of Leisure Care. “Our partnership with Premier has helped us turn that mindset into action across our communities, strengthening our operations while giving our teams more opportunities to focus on what matters most: helping our residents live well.
“We’re honored to be the first recipient of the Premier Continuum of Care Alliance Excellence Award and proud of what our teams have accomplished together.”
Beyond operational performance, Leisure Care and Premier share a commitment to strengthening the communities they serve. Premier is a proud supporter of the One Eighty Foundation, established in 2010 to improve the lives of children and families in need through financial support, mentorship and opportunities for better lives. One Eighty Foundation is the philanthropic arm of One Eighty, the parent company of Leisure Care and other hospitality companies.
Leisure Care has also distinguished itself as an advocate for the value of partnership across the senior living industry. Drawing on its experience with varying purchasing, procurement and distribution models, the organization has worked in collaboration with Premier to identify new opportunities while sharing its experiences and perspectives with others across the senior living community.
Leisure Care was formally presented with this inaugural award October 7 in front of healthcare leaders from across the country on the main stage at Breakthroughs 26, Premier’s annual conference and exhibition. This year’s event is hosted at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.
