More Granular Risk Score May Improve Maternal Morbidity Prediction
MedPage Today highlights new research powered by data from the Premier Healthcare Database (PHD) showing that a novel maternal Prenatal Risk Index (m-PRI) may improve how providers identify patients at risk for severe maternal morbidity. Developed using more than 7 million inpatient delivery encounters across 864 hospitals, the model uses 28 weighted maternal risk factors to better predict poor outcomes compared with previous scoring systems.
