More than 50 Organizations Support the Medical and Health Stockpile Accountability Act
More than 50 health systems, national hospital organizations and suppliers joined Premier in voicing support for the bipartisan Medical and Health Stockpile Accountability Act (H.R. 3577). In a letter spearheaded by Premier, the organizations call on Congress to include H.R. 3577 as part of the forthcoming Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act (PAHPA) reauthorization.
Introduced by Reps. Richard Hudson (R-NC), Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), Troy Balderson (R-OH) and Lori Trahan (D-MA), the Medical and Health Stockpile Accountability Act (H.R. 3577) would require the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) to establish an automated supply chain tracking application that provides insight into critical medical supplies across the country.
Premier also issued a statement applauding the introduction of the bill, calling it essential to addressing a major blind spot in our nation’s preparedness and to enabling timely access to the vital supplies providers need to care for patients during times of crisis.
