Premier Calls for Federal Support to Tech-Enable Nursing Homes

COVID-19 has brought to the forefront the specific challenges nursing homes face in containing the spread of infectious disease. The digital divide between acute care and nursing home settings and the lack of real-time intelligence to prevent and manage a spread is at the root of this problem. As such, Premier is seeking federal support for nursing homes to implement electronic health records and electronic clinical surveillance technology to enable safer and better care for our nation’s most vulnerable populations.
