Premier Submits Comments on CY 2027 Medicare Home Health Proposed Rule

Premier submitted comments to CMS on the CY 2027 Home Health Prospective Payment System (HH PPS) proposed rule. In our comments, we urged CMS to:

• Advance a final rule that results in home health payment increases for CY 2027;
• Revise its existing definition of infusion drug administration calendar day to allow for reimbursement of home infusion professional services each day that an infusion drug physically enters the patient’s body, irrespective of whether a skilled professional is in the individual’s home;
• Take a comprehensive approach to the transfer of health information by focusing on additional efforts to advance interoperability across the care continuum, including HHAs, via electronic data exchange;
• Incorporate interoperability into the Home Health Quality Reporting Program in conjunction with clearly defined standards as well as financial support that incentivizes the adoption of systems that meet interoperability standards; and

Establish a process that provides HHAs with adequate time to meet any new submission timelines and requirements.
