Premier Urges CMS to Continue the Medicare Direct Contracting Model
Premier joined more than 200 other organizations in urging CMS to continue the Medicare Direct Contracting model. In a letter to CMS, the groups underscored that stopping Direct Contracting would undermine our health system’s move to value-based payment models, which is sorely needed to achieve the triple aim of better patient satisfaction, higher quality care, and more affordable care. Premier believes that with improvements, the Direct Contracting Model can further galvanize accountable care organizations (ACOs) that are putting their shoulder to the wheel to improve care for their patients and lower overall healthcare spending.
