A longtime leader in healthcare improvement, we’re developing new ways to revolutionize the industry.
Premier is pleased to see to see the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) critical medication and device list of products required for patient care ian emergency, natural disaster, or other urgent situation. Premier has long advocated to FDA and Congress for such a list.
Premier encourages FDA to now actively consult with healthcare providers and their supply chain partner GPOs on the thoroughness and completeness of the list for the acute and non-acute space. This is especially true given that GPOs like Premier are working to ensure that drugs are made available through programs such as ProvideGx.
We urge FDA to treat today’s list as draft and immediately seek feedback from the private healthcare sector. Moving forward, provider input should be sought regularly to ensure the list remains dynamic and is updated as emerging technologies arise, practice guidelines are updated, and best practices are identified.
