Statement on the 2020 Elections

Like the rest of the nation, we are eagerly awaiting the final outcome of the presidential election. In the meantime, the Premier healthcare alliance remains laser-focused on the important task at hand, which is leading the transformation to a coordinated, high-quality and cost-effective healthcare system. Regardless of who will be in the White House on January 20, the urgent issues facing our country must be addressed on a bipartisan basis. Most immediately, the enduring pandemic requires continued federal action to support front-line healthcare providers’ fight against the virus through additional relief funds and liability protections, actions to bolster our healthcare supply chain readiness, continued regulatory flexibilities and an urgent need to modernize our public health tracking systems.
Regardless of the outcome, we look to the President and Congress to press ahead on critical bipartisan healthcare policies. This includes accelerating the movement to value-based care, creating a healthier marketplace for drugs and medical devices, expanding access to health coverage, and achieving a fully interoperable health information technology infrastructure that allows secure data sharing and exchange.
