Premier's S2S Global execs talk longer-term strategy in building a reliable supply chain
Premier Inc.'s S2S Global played a critical role in securing supplies as health-care systems scrambled for help during the pandemic. The team is still actively working to build a more reliable supply chain — one that holds up long-term and leaves the industry prepared for the next crisis.
Factory shutdowns in Asia and skyrocketing demand led to serious shortages of personal protective equipment, or PPE, as the globe battled Covid-19. S2S stepped up quickly to help Premier's more than 4,400 member hospitals and health systems gain access to more supplies. It vetted new supplier leads and pushed for more domestic or near-shore manufacturing.
That work is far from over, said Colin Bain, president of direct sourcing at Premier.
