Research Collaboration Between Premier Applied Sciences and CommonSpirit Health Aims to Improve Care for Patients with Chronic, Cardiovascular and Neurological Conditions
Charlotte, N.C., March 5, 2024 – Premier, Inc.’s Applied Sciences (PAS) team is partnering with CommonSpirit Health, one of the largest non-profit health systems in the country, in a research effort aimed at gathering clinical and operational insights for a variety of disease states – including cardiovascular, neurological and acute and chronic conditions – to advance medical care delivery across the system’s footprint.
The partnership combines PAS’ expertise in research development and CommonSpirit’s national footprint, talent and research infrastructure, to build healthier communities – paving the way for rapid advancements in achieving more favorable health outcomes.

- Harnessing innovation, prospective research, expert engagement and new technologies and solutions to advance outcomes in cardiovascular health, neurology and acute and chronic conditions across CommonSpirit’s delivery system.
- Co-designing novel research concepts with Common Spirit Health Research Institute and the Lloyd Dean Institute for Humankindness and Health Justice based on the needs of the communities and patients the system serves.
- Convening key stakeholders including subject matter experts, community leaders, patient advocacy groups and others in the development of thought leadership that aims to ensure solutions are informed by data and also reflect the experiences and priorities of the people affected with cardiovascular and neurological conditions.
