FAQ

What is happening with Commcare and Acro?
Commcare and Acro have entered into a transaction with CVS where CVS will be obtaining all your active prescriptions and historical prescriptions and related files. This transaction is anticipated to occur on June 7, 2019.

When will operations end at Commcare and Acro?
Upon a successful transaction closing, on June 7, 2019, Acro and Commcare will cease all patient-facing operations and begin to wind down their businesses. The pharmacies will cease all operations on or about July 22, 2019, in the Pennsylvania and Florida locations and will cease all business operations in the Tennessee location on or about June 14, 2019.

Is the transaction certain to happen?
No. We do not anticipate any delay or barriers to the transaction, however, until the transaction occurs, nothing will change at Acro or Commcare.

When is the transaction anticipated to close?
We anticipate that the last medications will be dispensed from Acro and Commcare on June 6 and the transaction will close on June 7, with CVS first dispensing medication on that day.

What will happen to my prescriptions that are active with Commcare and Acro?
Your active and historical prescriptions will be transitioned to CVS on June 7. CVS will reach out to you with additional information. Your next scheduled refill will either be provided by CVS or CVS will facilitate a transfer if they cannot service you due to benefit restrictions.

Is CVS going to dispense all my medications or just the specialty items?
Yes, CVS will dispense all your refills. The specialty item you take may come from a mail pharmacy where the package is sent to your home, and you may receive your other medications from one of CVS’ other mail pharmacies or may receive it directly from the CVS retail pharmacy closest to your home. CVS representatives will be available as soon as the transaction closes, which is anticipated to be June 7.

What if CVS is not in my insurance network?
Between the time of transition (June 7) and your next scheduled fill, you will be contacted by CVS and your prescription will be transitioned to a pharmacy that is your payer network. They will be able to be more specific, including whether or not your insurance payer is in their pharmacy network.

Will I be able to transition to another pharmacy other than CVS before the transition?
Patients are always able to transfer to another pharmacy. Depending on which pharmacy you choose, the pharmacy may or may not be in the payer network.

Will CVS have my copay card information?
Yes, CVS will receive all patient information including medications, primary and secondary insurance, copay card information, and foundation assistance.

When and how can I contact CVS?
Prior to June 7, CVS will not have your prescription records and will not be able to answer specific questions on your prescriptions. Specific questions will be answered by your current Commcare or Acro pharmacy until the transition. The Commcare or Acro pharmacy location you use will determine which CVS facility will be receiving your files.
